Kitchener woman arrested and charged after hate-motivated assault

A Kitchener woman has been arrested and charged following a hate-motivated assault.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, the incident happened on Friday around 4 p.m. in the area of Mooregate Crescent and Hazelglen Drive in Kitchener.

The 49-year-old woman approached the victim, began yelling racial slurs at them, then pushed them and punched them in the chest.

Police say there were no reports of injuries in the incident.

The Kitchener woman was arrested and charged with assault. She was held for a bail hearing.
