SIU investigating after man in Wellington County dies while in police custody

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating after a man died after being arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
The incident started on Tuesday as a 36-year-old man was arrested in Arthur by the OPP and taken to the North Wellington Operations Centre in Teviotdale.
Later that night, he was moved to the South Wellington Operations Centre in Rockwood.
On Wednesday morning, he was found to be in some medical distress, and those on the scene administered first aid. He was then taken to a hospital in Guelph.
At 11:20 a.m., he was pronounced deceased.
Three investigators and one forensic investigator have been assigned to the case.
