Fischer-Hallman Road reopens following ‘erosion’ closure in Waterloo

The Region of Waterloo has reopened Fischer-Hallman Road North between Laurelwood Drive and Columbia Street West following an erosion-related closure on Thursday.

In a social media post, the Region said the roadway would be closed for several hours due to erosion from heavy rains.

This comes as a record amount of rain fell on Waterloo Region on Wednesday.

Providing an update on Thursday evening, the Region said the closure had been lifted on Fischer-Hallman Road, though a road improvement project still has northbound lanes of traffic closed between Gatestone Boulevard and Laurelwood Drive until September.
