Arrest made in nearly two month long carjacking investigation

An arrest has been made, after a carjacking in Kitchener nearly two months ago.

Waterloo Regional Police say a 24-year-old man from Toronto is facing numerous charges.

He has since been brought to Waterloo Region to appear in court.

This is all connected to a case back in March, where a person was reportedly forced out of their car by a group of people with a gun in the Elmsdale Drive and Ottawa Street South area of Kitchener.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in that case.

Police say the man may be connected to a total of four carjackings.

His charges include two counts each of robbery and attempted robbery.

The vehicle in the Kitchener case was stolen, but later recovered.

The investigation is ongoing.
