VIDEO: Pickup driver races away from police going towards Hwy. 401

Regional police are looking for the driver of a white pick-up truck after they refused to stop for an officer.

Waterloo regional police are looking for the driver of a white pickup truck after an incident near Highway 401 in Kitchener.

Monday afternoon, just before 2:30 p.m., an officer was speaking with a driver about a tinted windshield in the King Street East and Sportsworld Drive area.

Investigators said “an odour of cannabis” could also be smelled coming from the truck. Before the officer could look further into the issue, the driver drove away, reportedly racing eastbound on King Street East toward Highway 401.

That driver is said to be a white man, between 19-29 years old, with a slim build.

According to the police, the truck is said to be “a white 1994-2001 Dodge Ram 3500 extended cab dually with tinted windows, including a tinted front windshield. The Ontario licence plate is believed to begin with the letters BW.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
