Waterloo Region set to have a cloudy, wet start to April

The first week of April is going to be wet and cloudy for Waterloo Region.

Barbara Labido, a meteorologist with the Ontario Weather Office with Environment Canada, said the region is going to have cloudy days until Tuesday afternoon, before it starts to rain. She added that the rain is going to mix in with some flurries beginning on Wednesday with cold air coming into the region.

“It’s still uncertain the exact time when that transition is going to happen,” said Labido. “We might have some accumulation of snow, but its still uncertain. That snow is going to last at least until Thursday night.”

Labido said the temperature this week is going to be pretty consistent, hovering around the freezing mark of one to two degrees.

She indicated that the region is poised to have a good weekend weather-wise. The sun is expected to mix with clouds on Saturday and Sunday with temperatures rising to a possible high of 11 degrees by the latter.
