Pedestrian suffers serious injuries after hit and run in Kitchener

A pedestrian was taken to hospital after a hit and run in Kitchener on Friday.

Around 7:30 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police were called to the area of Ottawa Street South and Windflower Drive for reports of a crash between a driver and a pedestrian.

The driver stopped initially after hitting the pedestrian but then fled the scene.

The pedestrian, a 25-year-old Kitchener woman, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Ottawa Street South was partially closed for several hours on Friday as police investigated.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding the driver involved in the crash. They have provided a photo of the vehicle that left the scene.
