Kidney Clothes hosting clothing drive to support Ukraine

Another relief effort is making way across the GTA and parts of southern Ontario to help those in Ukraine. Kidney Clothes is helping Canada-Ukraine Foundation with a drop-off clothing drive until the end of April.

Kidney Clothes raises funds to support Canadians living with kidney disease. It partners with different charities, schools, and community organizations that host clothing drives.

Now to help with the crisis in Ukraine, residents are being asked to donate unwanted clothing or textiles.

“Anything you find in your linen closet. Blankets, towels, comforters, shoes, outerwear, purses, anything like that will be accepted.” said Jennifer Breese, marketing and communications manager for Kidney Clothes.

Though the closest location to Waterloo Region is Brantford, Breese noted they are looking for businesses or organizations interested in helping host a donation drive on their behalf.

“We are currently seeking community partners who may be willing to be a drop-off location, so if business or other organizations that might have a spare closet where people can pop in leave their donation, we would come and pick them up.”

All donations must be marked with a “U” and can be dropped off at participating Kidney Clothes locations from Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

More information can be found on the organization's website.
