Canadian Forces helicopter to fly over area Saturday

By Blair Adams

Aviation enthusiasts will want to keep their eyes to the sky on Saturday, September 14.

Canadian Armed Forces say a CH-146 Griffon helicopter from 427 Special Operations Aviation Squadron will be flying over Waterloo and the surrounding area.

The helicopter will then land at the University of Waterloo campus as part of a demonstration for Hack the North.

427 Special Operations Aviation Squadron is a tactical helicopter unit that provides dedicated special operations aviation effects to all units within Canadian Special Operations Forces Command.

The flight will occur between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Residents may experience periods of increased noise in the areas where the helicopter is flying.

CANSOFCOM says it is extremely thankful for the support and understanding of the local residents.
