Tree clean up continues in Cambridge after wind storm hit late Friday

Clean up continues over the weekend from Friday’s huge windstorm, and the City of Cambridge says they’re still dealing with downed tree clean up today.

Hardy Bromberg is the Deputy City Manager for Community Development. He tells 570 NEWS by Saturday night they were dealing with reports of 60 trees to address in the city.

He says they are very fortunate no injuries were reported as a result of the storm and clean up, and says if you see any trees down on the trails this week to contact the city.

Bromberg says he is expecting more information from the Region about any special pick-up to deal with storm debris.

As for the final price tag for this clean up, Bromberg says this isn’t something they budget for.

He says instead of crews doing trail work this weekend, some of that money went into clean up.

He says they will determine what work went into this weekend, and report back to council.
