No charges to be laid against Ornge air ambulance after allegations of criminal wrongdoing

Provincial Police say no charges will be laid as a result of a lengthy investigation into alleged criminal wrongdoing by senior employees at Ontario’s air ambulance service.
The O-P-P says an analysis of information gathered during the complex probe found insufficient evidence to support laying charges.
The investigation began in February 2012 into a web of companies set up by Chris Mazza, the former head of the Ornge air ambulance service, and allegations of kickbacks in the purchase of nine helicopters from AgustaWestland.
The Italian firm said it did nothing wrong but in the wake of the allegations Mazza and many top officials at ORNGE lost their jobs and a new board of directors was put in place.
