It started with a robbery in Cambridge, there was police chase, it ended with a woman in handcuffs

Police were kept busy in Cambridge Wednesday night after multiple robberies, several assaults, a car jacking and a police chase all involving the same woman.

It started on Highway 24, south of Cambridge.

Waterloo Regional Police say a woman approached a man and stole his cell phone.

A passerby saw the robbery, stopped to help but was also robbed and assaulted.

The suspect then threw an object at a passing car.

The car stopped, the woman assaulted the driver and stole the car.

OPP caught up with the stolen vehicle on Highway 403 near Hamilton where a short chase took place before the car collided with several vehicles.

No one was injured in the collision.

A 28-year-old Waterloo woman has been charged with three counts of robbery, flight from police, dangerous driving and several other charges.
