Finally, relief from the heat

Relief from the sweltering heat is on our doorstep.

A heat warning for Waterloo Region and surrounding areas was lifted on Wednesday morning.

A cold front will move through our area today, pushing out the hot and muggy air.

We might even see a shower or two this afternoon.

This comes on the heels of a string of record-breaking days, including yesterday, when the temperature topped up at 31.9 degrees.

That broke the old mark set in 1920.

As for today, it will still be above normal with a high of 26, then the cool down really begins.

For tomorrow we’re expecting a high of 19 and just 16 for a high on Friday, with a low that night slipping to just 3.

The normal high for this time of year is 18 while the normal low is 7.
