Justin Trudeau kicks off Hack the North at UW

Canada’s biggest Hackathon got quite the kick-off at the University of Waterloo, Friday night.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered the opening address at the annual Hack the North conference.

“So dream big, work hard and have fun,” he said. “Most of all, enjoy the next few days and get hacking.”

Trudeau said he came to Waterloo to “see what the future looks like,” and according to him, the future looks great.

“When I look around this room I see young people who’ve proven their ability not only to adapt, but to thrive in a world that is constantly evolving, constantly changing, constantly being distrupted” the Prime Minister said. “I see quick learners, creative thinkers and natural risk takers, who are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but leaders today.”

Hack the North wraps up on Sunday, and over a thousand students from 24 countries are participating.
