Heat warning continues

It’ll be another hot and humid day today.
Daytime high temperatures are expected to be in the low thirties with maximum humidex values near forty.
Overnight, temperatures are only expected to fall to about twenty or so, Environment Canada expects the warning will end by Tuesday morning.
While extreme heat can put everyone at risk from heat illnesses, health risks are greatest for older adults, young children, and people who work in the heat.
Environment Canada says drink plenty of liquids especially water before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration.
Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
Waterloo Region Public Health has also opened their cooling centres in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and rural areas. A full list can be found here.
