A Kitchener judge has declared a mistrial in the case of a man charged in an alleged deadly drunk driving case. In 2011, 11-year-old Jeremy Huber was killed when the van his dad was driving was struck at the corner of Gerber and Nafziger Road in Wellesley Township. According to reports, Justice Peter Hambly read from a 16-page statement in court yesterday – saying the proposed plea bargain, a 27-month sentence, for 36-year-old Jeremy Glenfield does not address the seriousness of what happened and does not protect the public by sufficiently deterring others and condemning drunk driving. Proceedings are scheduled to resume on Friday.

Be careful what you post – it’s a sentiment we know all too well and have talked about on the show before. A Cape Breton lobster Restaurant, under fire for a post on their Facebook Page “We will no longer allow small, screaming children. We are an adult-themed restaurant that caters to those who enjoy food and are out to enjoy themselves.” The Lobster Pound and More quickly retracted the statement and issued an apology after sparking criticism with the post. According to the Ontario human rights code – you cannot discriminate on family status…and experts say there are a few things you can do if your child acts up. Suggestions include explaining the rules, taking them outside – and knowing your child’s limits. While she doesn’t think banning is the right thing to do – she does say the onus is on the parent and the bottom line is this: “If your kid is screaming and disrupting the experience of others who have paid for a service (like a dinner or a play), then please remove yourselves from the situation by exiting the venue.”
