Bundle up! Record cold temperatures reached today

Record cold temperatures were reached early this morning.

It dropped to -30 degrees just after 4:00 AM with a windchill of -38. The old record? It was -23 degrees in 1979.

And the record breaking temperatures don’t stop there. 570 News Weather Specialist John Wilson is calling for a high of -16 breaking the record set back in 1943.

An extreme cold warning was lifted around 10:45 a.m. for Waterloo Region and surrounding areas.
