10:00 – Kitchener’s snow budget

With over a month left to go in the year, Kitchener, Cambridge and Waterloo are already over budget on their winter maintenance by 1.25 million dollars. Kitchener is projected to be in the hole by about 900-thousand dollars, which officials say will likely be covered by reserves.

The Co-operators is offering a five per cent discount on insurance for drivers who have – or plan to – put on snow tires. Meantime, Bast Tire and Auto is seeing a high demand for winter tires as the harsh winter weather hits Waterloo Region.
