Promising results for Parkinson’s vaccine

The first clinical data on the development of a therapeutic Parkinson’s disease vaccine shows encouraging results, and researchers are being urged to continue its development.

The findings were presented at a press conference in New York, where experts discussed the impact a disease-modifying therapy would have for its 5-million patients worldwide.

The study was supported by a $1.5-million grant from the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

The next step of the treatment development involves the testing of a boost vaccination.
