Apple Inc. and International Business Machines Corp.’s partnership to load up iPhones and iPads with business apps is a move that takes aim at BlackBerry Ltd.’s core base of corporate customers and adds further uncertainty to the Waterloo, Ont-based smartphone maker’s turnaround, analysts say. The combination of Apple’s consumer-friendly devices and IBM’s expertise in big data and analytics makes a “formidable competitor” for BlackBerry, adding “further uncertainty” to its turnaround plans, said Brian Colello, equity analyst at Morningstar in Chicago. “We can only view the partnership as a negative for BlackBerry”

Tim McGraw denies slapping fan. Drake’s got a new album, it’s called Views from the 6. Weird Al Yankovic could have his first number one album with “Mandatory Fun”. The teen metal band Unlocking the Truth, which recently signed a multi-album deal with Sony, will release a book next year. The band is signed to the new label The Cherry Party, a division of Sony and played at the Coachella music festival this year and has opened for Guns N’ Roses. Unlocking the Truth includes 13-year-olds Malcolm Brickhouse and Alec Atkins, and 12-year-old Jarad Dawkins. The announcement of the band’s deal with Sony made headlines this week. They are currently working on their debut album. The band is part of the line-up for the 2014 Warped Tour.
