The SIU has cleared a Guelph police officer.
The director of the special investigations unit concluded that there were no reasonable grounds to charge a Guelph police officer in relation to injuries sustained by a 35-year-old man in November of 2013.
Back on November 5th, the officer spotted a man who appeared to be intoxicated and took the man into custody under the liquor licence act.
At the police station, the man was handcuffed and seated on a bench when he fell to the ground, injuring his leg and was then taken to hospital for treatment.
The SIU says it would appear that the man’s intoxication is to blame for his injury.
