The Waterloo Innovation Summit kicks off on Monday at the Mike and Ophelia Lazaridis Quantum-Nano Centre.
It aims to bring focus to the next generation of technology and how it works in today’s world.
In order to bring more attention to the many businesses and innovative minds in our region, this event brings together some of the world’s greatest minds.
Director of Media Relations for the University of Waterloo Nick Manning tells 570 News that innovation drives society forward.
“Without it, the economy stagnates and prosperity declines. We know that the future relies on our ability to commercialize innovative ideas and create new jobs, new approaches, new industries. We hope that by starting that conversation here in Waterloo will catalize the next generation of technological thinking.”
By shining light on the innovation and business opportunities within Waterloo region, Waterloo will be able to grow and become more recognized for the innovation that is taking place.
Manning hopes that by bringing together policy makers and investors to the community, they’ll see what is special about Waterloo Region.
“Especially with the University of Waterloo right at its core, will encourage more investment in the region to help drive forward the growth of innovation that’s going on here.”
The Waterloo Innovation Summit runs April 14th and 15th.
