Region to help with tourist train move

With Light Rail Transit moving in, the group that runs the tourist train to St. Jacobs will have to move its operations.

It will be moved to a location, north of Northfield Drive.

The region is giving The Southern Ontario Locomotive Restoration Society
$150,000 towards the cost.

It’s also allowing the not-for-profit group to remove and re-install the existing track from the Uptown Waterloo Station to the new one.

LRT construction is set to begin next year.
