Cambridge residents concerned about possible biosolids plant

Regional officials got an earful at a public open house in Cambridge last night.
Residents packed the Cambridge Sports Park with many of them voicing their opposition to a possible $80-million biosolids plant being set up in their city.
The proposal would see it located at the Cambridge Waste Management Centre on Savage Drive.
This morning’s Record reports one of the chief concerns was the impact on drinking water in the area.
Staff is expected to make a final recommendation to regional council after gathering more public input and a vote could take place in the fall.
