Cambridge man charged

A Cambridge man is facing charges after hitting a hydro pole in Guelph.

Guelph police were called to Stone Road West on Sunday just before 5 p.m. to investigate a single vehicle collision.

A 2008 Subaru sedan was destroyed after striking a hydro pole. The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and upon further investigation, police found the driver had more than the legal limit of alcohol in his body.

31-year-old Philip Canuel of Cambridge has been charged with driving over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code, careless driving and failing to wear a seatbelt.

He now has a court date of February 26th.
