The Toronto International Film Festival (Sept 6-16) has announced its gala film presentations, including films directed by Ben Affleck, Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford. Canadian galas include Deepa Mehta’s sweeping “Midnight’s Children,” based on Salmon Rushdie’s prize-winning novel and adapted for the screen by Rushdie himself. Showbiz editor Gloria Martin spoke with Anita Mujumdar who stars in the film.
