SIU Investigates a Car Crash

Ontario’s police watchdog is looking into a crash in Cambridge that left a driver injured.
The Special Investigations Unit says Regional police were called around 10:30 last night about a vehicle being operated in a dangerous manner.
They say when officers responded, the vehicle fled the scene.
The officers followed and a short distance later, the vehicle struck a light post on George Street near Parkhill Road and the driver was ejected.
The SIU says the driver was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries.
The SIU is an arm’s-length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death or serious injury.
