Liberal Leader Dalton McGuinty makes local stop

Liberal Leader Dalton McGuinty has made a local campaign stop, visiting the Carpenters and Allied Workers Cambridge Local 785 on Fountain Street.
It’s a training facility and McGuinty spoke with students learning various trades. At one point, McGuinty rolled up his sleeves and helped hang a sheet of drywall.
McGuinty said it’s important to engage our young people, and it’s important to engage our young people, “the students here are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and it really reminds me of the optimism we have for Ontario’s future.” McGunity said, “we’re proud of the investment we’ve made in colleges and universities, but our apprenticeship program and this kind of program that we’ve got in place here, just reaches a whole spectrum of young people and taps into their talents and their aspirations.”
Wishing the students a great year of school, McGuinty talked hockey for a moment, asking one student how he thinks his “Sens” (Ottawa Senators) are going to do. The student replied, they aren’t going to do well, to which McGuinty admitted “Yea, we’re in a rebuilding mode here.”
