City of Waterloo to support Siskins

A sigh of relief for the beleaguered Waterloo Siskins.
Waterloo City Council has decided to assist the Junior B Hockey Team.
Councillor Karen Scian says the team’s new management made a great presentation to council last night.
She says the decision was unanimous — a 14-thousand dollar grant for the team AND council will float an interest free loan that can be re-paid over the next 15 year plan.
Scian says it’s now up to the team to take the next step by marketing and promoting the team by getting people in the seats.
Scian says they also laid out a plan to recover their sustainability and figure out how they’re moving forward.
