More and more people are using the region’s international airport.
According to Airport Manager Chris Wood 105,000 passengers flew from the region last year and says that they are projecting 130,000 passengers to pass through this year.
He says one good thing about using a smaller airport is that security is efficient, even though traffic is a little more heavier on march break compared to other days, its not really that different and check in remains rather quick.
Spokesperson for the Canadian air transport security authority Mathieu Larocque says that you can speed up the security process by putting liquids and gels into your checked luggage.
According to Larocque the airport was equipped with a full body scanner last December.
The images that are captured and viewed in another room are deleted shortly after to protect privacy of the passenger.
Currently Bearskin and WestJet Airlines operate annual service while Sunwing offers seasonal service in the winter.
