Annual Heritage Showcase today

The annual Heritage Showcase is taking place today from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Cambridge Centre, at 355 Hespeler Road, Cambridge, will be hosting the event.

The event is part of the Waterloo Regional Heritage Foundation.

“The theme this year is heritage parks and landscapes. Basically focusing on the historical parks and landscapes of the area, that have got a heritage or historical component to them,” says Councillor Zyg Janecki.

A showcase for the history of the Waterloo Region, the event will have a few components. One of which being educational, by showing displays, videos, spinning and weaving demonstrations and much more.

There will be many groups at the Heritage Showcase, some of which being the Spinners and Weavers Guild, Waterloo Historical Society, Kitchener Public Library / Grace Schmidt Room and many more.

During the event people will be able to chat with staff of regional and municipal governments.

There will also be a few grants given out to help owners of historical property maintain their buildings.

The event is free to the public and all are welcome to show up to the Cambridge Centre.
