Sled dog task force begins meetings

VICTORIA (NEWS1130) – Members of the sled-dog task force had their first face-to-face meeting Tuesday.

MLA Terry Lake, who is chairing the task force, met with the head of the BC SPCA and the president of the Union of BC Municipalities.

“We’re hoping to put together a meeting in Victoria next Wednesday to engage key stakeholders in the sled dog industry. We’ll be approaching them over the next few days,” explains Lake.

The group will be reviewing practices in the sled dog industry and will issue a report with recommendations by March 25.
