City budget 2011

The City of Kitchener has unveiled its draft operating budget for 2011.
As it stands now, it includes a property tax increase of 1.94 per cent or an additional $18 per year for the average household.
Keep in mind, that hike does not include changes to utility rates, which kick in next month and will add another $10.50 to the monthly tax bill.
Finance and Corporate Services Committee chair, John Gazzola vows to keep a tight lid on tax increases saying “The buck stops here,” and “Whatever we do here, we’re going to have to live with.”
A public meeting on the budget is slated for February 15th.
