New Deputy Chief

Waterloo Regional Police have named their new Deputy Chief of Police.

Superintendent Stephen Beckett will take the job on February 1st.

The announcement was made at Wednesday’s Police Services Board meeting.

Current Deputy Chief Michael Mann is set to retire at the end of January.

Deputy Chief Designate Beckett joined the Waterloo Regional Police Service in 1980.

He tells 570 News it’s still being decided which portfolio he will take over, one is operational and the other is administrative.
