Families of Canadian Soldiers in Afghanistan are holding their annual barbeque and public ceremony today, the Red Friday Rally.

The event honours Canadian soldiers, past and present.

Organizer Paul Filsinger tells 570’s Jeff Allan show today’s event is different than past years in one big way, as the new plaque on the cenotaph in Waterloo will be unveiled.

The evening kicks off at the cenotaph around 5:30, hosted by Jeff Allan.
