Windy night ahead

It’s expected to be a windy night in Waterloo Region and much of Ontario.

Some severe weather is moving up from the United States.

The strong winds should stay until about midnight, Environment Canada says those gusts will be out of the southwest between 50 and 80 km/h.

About 15 hundred customers lost power for about 30 minutes in the Fairway and King area of Kitchener on Tuesday afternoon.

Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro doesn’t know yet if it was wind related, but say some equipment failed.
