Let’s Talk!

LET’S TALK KW.

A local group wants to get people discussing the amalgamation question that will be on the municipal ballot in Kitchener and Waterloo on October 25th.

They’ve launched a website too.

Voters in those two cities will be asked; “Do you support the members of the Kitchener and Waterloo Councils engaging in discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of merging the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo?”

The group is co-chaired by John English, Professor Emeritus at the University of Waterloo and a former Kitchener MP.

He tells 570’s Gary Doyle Show it’s about making our common future together better.

English says it’s important the voters understand that the question being asked is about talking and what we expect will be a sensible, fact-based approach involving active citizen participation.
