Biker blitz in Waterloo

Regional police pulled over 140 motorcycles and issued 39 tickets last Saturday as part of a safety sweep.

The bikes were inspected by officers on Confederation Drive.

Police spokesperson Olaf Heinzel says tickets were issued for things like improper mufflers, tires and handle bars.

The blitz was carried out with the help of the OPP Biker Enforcement Unit, the RCMP, as well as Toronto, Peel Regional and London police services.
