Chicopee Celebrates Summerfest

The Labour Day long weekend comes early to Chicopee.

It’s holding a huge end of summer blow out today and tomorrow which is called, appropriately enough, “Summerfest”.

The two-day event is expected to attract over 1,000 people with no shortage of things to see and do.

There will be a barbecue both days and dozens of hands-on activities such as disc golf, climbing, volleyball, biking and children’s activities.

One of the highlights is Bavaria World, which Chicopee Manager of Business Development Lori McCrae calls a preamble to Oktoberfest.

A tent will be decorated in Oktoberfest style and even Onkel Hans and others will be there.

Summerfest runs from 10am to 11pm today and 10am to 6pm tomorrow.
