Police continue to investigate a fire in Waterloo

Waterloo police continue to investigate a fire that happened around 4:30 am this morning.
Waterloo Fire rescue were called to 66 Rankin St. in Waterloo, where fire consumed one of the 12 units within a single-story commercial plaza.
Fire crews controlled the blaze around 6:30 am and remain on scene to conduct salvage and overhaul operations.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and the building is not believed to have a sprinkler system and has yet to be determined if it had a fire alarm.
No injuries have been reported at this time and a dollar loss has not been established.
