Man, woman charged in G20 security-related raid in Forest Hill

TORONTO, Ont. – Police have now charged a second person after a G20 security-related raid on a Forest Hill home on Wednesday.
Kristen Peterson, 37, has been charged with possession of explosives and weapons.
Police told 680News search warrants executed near Georgian Bay and Muskoka led to the arrests.
Byron Sonne, 37, who was charged on Wednesday will be back in court Saturday.
Sonne faces several charges, including intimidation of justice system participant by threat, possess explosive for unlawful purpose and weapons dangerous.
The high-end home is on Elderwood Drive, in the Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue area.
“There were a number of officers [who] surrounded the house. As a result a search warrant was executed. The officers then entered the home,” Toronto police Const. Tony Vella said.
Toronto police said they will not reveal more details about the investigation, but the Toronto Star reported Sonne is the owner of a computer security company and a member of the Toronto Area Security Klatch, or “TASK” — a forum for experts to discuss security threats facing computer networks.
Fellow TASK member Robert Beggs told the Star that Sonne is a very “well-respected specialist in detecting computer vulnerabilities.”
Sonne is also said to be a licensed private investigator.
Several officers executed the warrant just after noon, Tuesday. Neighbours told 680News the home has been under observation since Friday. They also said about 50-75 police officers swarmed into the house Tuesday afternoon.
