Push for new cycling law

NDP MPP Cheri DiNovo wants vehicles to be three feet or more away when motorists pass cyclists.
She will introduce a Private Member’s Bill to that effect tomorrow at Queen’s Park.
It comes just days after a group of cyclists in Quebec were run over by a pick-up truck, killing 3 of them.
The City of Kitchener has been working on a cycling master plan.
Cycling Co-ordinator Ron Schrim tells 570 News they’ve been trying to find a way to show motorists that cyclists have a legal right to be on the road.
The President and CEO of The Ontario Safety League, Brian Patterson tells 570’s Gary Doyle Show DiNovo’s bill will never become law.
A public meeting will be held on Wednesday evening on Kitchener’s cycling master plan.
