Woodstock man facing weapons charges

A Woodstock man is facing a slew of weapons charges after police seized twenty firearms from his home.
The weapons were seized during a raid on Monday and included an AK-47 assault rifle and a weapon reported stolen to York Regional Police back in 1993.
Officers also seized prohibited large capacity cartridge magazines, ammunition and a prohibited conducted energy weapon.
44-year-old Ronald Piercy is charged with possession of a restricted firearm, possession of a weapon obtained by crime, three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and four counts of breach of firearms regulations.
