Police identify crash victim

Waterloo Regional Police say 43-year-old Giti Kohansal Vajargah of Cambridge was killed when her car hit a train on Nafziger Road near New Hamburg this morning.

The crash happened just after 6:30 on Wednesday morning.

Police say Vajargah’s car collided with an eastbound VIA train carrying 20 passengers.

No one else was injured.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call police.
