Waterloo working towards Northdale solution

Waterloo City Council is moving forward with developing a new vision for the contentious Northdale neighbourhood.  
Council has told staff to put together a detailed report, to be complete by April, outlining all of the options in hopes of easing the stress in the student-dominated area.
Among other things, Tuesday’s Record reports, staff will identify ways to intensify and diversify the area.
Permanent residents have long been concerned about the number of student housing units in the neighbourhood arguing some are not well maintained and complaining about loud parties, litter and vandalism.
