College teachers to vote on strike

College teachers in the province will hold a strike vote today.
Key issues are workload, academic freedom and management’s decision in November to impose its offer without letting faculty vote on it.
Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities John Milloy tells 570 News is encouraging both sides to work towards an agreement.
A strike would affect at least 200,000 students in the province.
Faculty at Kitchener’s Conestoga college are expected to vote beginning at 10 this morning.
If the provinces 9,000 college teachers vote in favour of a strike mandate, a walkout could happen in February.
