Final Approval of Cambridge Master Plan set for Monday

Cambridge City Council is set to make its final approval on a review of the city’s Master Plan for Leisure Services, on Monday.
Director of Community Recreation Services, Reg Weber says the update looked at a number of initiatives including a facility review for older adults, a review of the Hespeler Town Centre, support to neighbourhood associations, the youth services policy, and the special events policy.
He says they’re making a number of service enhancements, by providing extra money to various committees to allow them to fill their mandates.
Weber says the city has also completed an Arts and Culture Master Plan which will eventually inject $500,000 into the arts community.
The Master Plan for Leisure Services was put into place in 2002 and is reviewed every 5 years.
Weber says the review has been a long process and policy updates have been made over the past couple of years.
