It’s the beginning of a new year and a new decade.
New Year’s Day also means a disruption in some services.
There are the usual closures.
Government offices are closed today which also means no mail delivery.
If today is your day for garage, blue box or green bin pick up, it’s being pushed back by a day.
Most stores are also closed today, although some select Shoppers Drug Mart locations are open.
Grand River Transit is operating today, but on a modified Sunday schedule.
