Ontario thaws while the west freezes

As Waterloo Region and the rest of southern Ontario catches a break from several days of snowy weather, with a temperature of around plus 3 western Canada is locked in the deep freeze.
Edmonton is leading the way as the coldest place in the country with the temperature dipping to minus 46 and with a windchill of minus 59. In Regina it’s feeling like minus 49 with the wind chill.
Meantime, Vancouver is set to get a heavy dose of winter with up to 20 centimetres or two thirds of a foot of snow expected today and tomorrow.
