Laurier student arrested in connection with shooting threat

Waterloo Regional Police say a Wilfrid Laurier University student has been charged after a threat, which appeared on social media.

In the post, published on Thursday, police allege a man said he was going to attend the university and commit a shooting on campus. 

As a result of the investigation, with the assistance of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Wilfrid Laurier Special Constable Service, an 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with uttering threats. 

Police also say there are no concerns for public safety.
